Director of Occupational Health & Safety

A fully qualified technical occupational health & safety professional with over a decade of experience in construction, Richard is a recognized leader among colleagues and dedicated to delivering strong EHS performance management, accountability, and training. ​​​​​​​

Richard earned his Bachelor of Business from the Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland, then went on to earn certificates in both Leadership and Occupational Health & Safety before studying for his masters in Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Management at Middlesex University in London.  Other certifications include BCSP, Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST); OSHA 30, 500, 510; IOSH, Graduate Member; and many technical certifications (Procore, First Aid, CPR and AED, Scaffolding, Crane/Rigging, MEWP, Confined Space, Excavation & Trenching, Fall Protection, Silica Management, Accident Investigation, Fire and Emergency Coordination).

Prior to joining CWC in 2021, Richard most recently worked for Skanska (both in the US & the UK) for almost 10 years.  He is an active member of the local Washington Metropolitan Area Construction Safety Association.
