Joanne Sherwood

As Chief Financial Officer, Joanne is a strategic partner in the company’s economic growth and increased operational efficiency. She is responsible for all aspects of controlling and forecasting and played a major role in establishing the firm’s strategic partnerships with banking, lending, and insurance companies.
Joanne joined CWC’s accounting team in 1992 and was quickly promoted to Project Accountant that same year. In 1995, she became our Controller, while also working towards a Business Management degree from the University of Maryland, University College. Following her graduation and CPA license & certification, Joanne was promoted to CFO in 2002 and became an equity partner in 2019, as part of a strategic business plan for the company’s future.
She is a lifelong Maryland resident and has lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for the past 45 years. She is a Certified Public Accountant and active in a number of associations, including the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the Maryland Society of Accountants (MSA), and she serves on the Board of Directors for the Construction Financial Management Association of Greater Washington (CFMA).
