We believe that great leadership extends beyond the job site, and we’re thrilled to celebrate one of our own. Please join us in congratulating Sherry Kissal on being officially sworn in as President of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

“It is an incredible honor to step into this role,” Sherry shared during the ceremony. “IIDA has always championed the design profession and, just as importantly, the people and partnerships that bring it to life and drive our industry forward.”

Driven by Passion and Purpose

Sherry Kissal is a passionate advocate for both design and construction. With experience across the design, owner, and general contractor sides of the industry, she brings a well-rounded perspective that bridges vision and execution.

A dedicated mentor and supporter of emerging talent, Sherry is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of designers. As a proud Marymount University alumna, she has stayed closely connected to her roots, formerly leading the Marymount Design Advisory Council and continuing to engage with students as a guest speaker. Through teaching preconstruction classes, offering career guidance, and creating opportunities for real-world learning, she actively prepares young designers to thrive in an evolving industry.

Sherry’s leadership within the IIDA design community reflects her passion for advancing the profession of interior design, not only through advocacy and innovation but by fostering meaningful connections and empowering emerging talent.

Looking Ahead: Community as Practice

This year, Sherry will lead the chapter with a clear and powerful focus: community and connection as everyday practices, not just values.

“As IIDA EVP & CEO Cheryl Durst reminded us at the annual meeting, ‘Human connections are the secret sauce.’ I couldn’t agree more,” Sherry said. “Our work, impact, and joy are rooted in the relationships we build within this industry.”

As President of the IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter, Sherry will lead with a strategic focus on supporting and advancing the interior design profession and a deep commitment to serving members' needs. Guided by a clear vision and a collaborative spirit, she will ensure that every member has the opportunity to grow, contribute, and lead within a thriving and inclusive community.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

We are immensely proud to see Sherry’s leadership recognized in such a meaningful way. Her commitment to excellence and dedication to advancing design and collaboration resonate deeply with our company's values. We can’t wait to see what’s ahead under your inspiring leadership.
