Patrick Caulfield Inducted into Montgomery County Business Hall of Fame

Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC) is proud to celebrate former President Patrick Caulfield’s induction into the Montgomery County Business Hall of Fame. As one of six members of the 2026 class, Pat is recognized for his business leadership and longstanding commitment to serving the community.

Four Decades of Leadership at CWC

Pat’s story with CWC began in early 1977, when he joined the company as a Superintendent. A natural leader, he took on greater responsibility, and in 1985, he and his friend and colleague Terry Coakley took over the business and founded Coakley & Williams Construction, Inc. Together, they led a period of remarkable growth, taking the company from $3.2 million in annual revenue to a place among Engineering News-Record’s Top 400 Contractors within eight years—a distinction CWC would go on to earn consistently.

Pat’s leadership helped shape the company’s work as a general contractor and design-builder, delivering commercial, institutional, and governmental projects throughout the region and beyond. His induction recognizes not only his contributions to the construction industry but also his decades of service to the community.

Building More Than Structures

Pat’s dedication to education and youth development extends well beyond the construction industry. He has served as Board Chair for Bullis School and Connelly School of the Holy Child and currently chairs the board of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. He also served as longtime Board Chair of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area, supporting an organization dedicated to helping young people reach their potential.

His service also includes leadership within Associated Builders and Contractors at the local, state, and national levels, along with board involvement supporting the Universities at Shady Grove and numerous educational and charitable organizations. Together, these commitments reflect a career that has connected business leadership with service to others.

For the CWC team, this recognition is especially meaningful. We are proud to celebrate Pat’s contributions to our company, our industry, and the communities we serve. His induction is a fitting tribute to decades of dedication and the lasting relationships built along the way.

Congratulations, Pat, on this well-deserved honor!
