We’re proud to share that two of our own were recognized among the region’s most inspiring leaders at the Bisnow DMV 2025 Women Leading Real Estate Awards & Happy Hour, held November 18 in Washington, DC. This annual event celebrates women who are driving innovation, collaboration, and impact across the commercial real estate and construction industries. We believe every action we take contributes to building something, and both Sherry Kissal & Hazel Mendoza embody that philosophy through their leadership, mentorship, and commitment to excellence.

Sherry Kissal: Building Strategy, Community, and Opportunity
As Partner and Executive Director of Strategy & Acquisition, Sherry Kissal leads with vision and purpose. With more than 20 years of experience in design and construction, she joined CWC in 2014. Sherry drives company growth through strategic partnerships, market development, and long-term planning—always with a focus on people first.
Her leadership extends beyond business development. She serves on Marymount University’s Design Advisory Council, guiding students preparing to enter the design and construction industries, and is the President of IIDA’s Mid-Atlantic chapter.
Hazel Mendoza: Leading from the Field with Integrity & Impact
A leader in the field, Hazel has been an advocate for women in construction
Hazel Mendoza, Assistant Superintendent, exemplifies leadership through action. A U.S. Navy veteran, Hazel brings discipline, integrity, and teamwork to every job site. Her experience managing complex field operations, particularly in senior living and education projects, reflects her strong technical expertise and commitment to client satisfaction.
Beyond her project work, Hazel mentors others in the field, especially women and veterans pursuing careers in construction. She’s also pursuing a Business Administration degree, further strengthening her leadership and management skills.
Hazel’s recognition as a Bisnow honoree celebrates her impact both in the field and across our company culture—proof that great leaders build trust, teams, and the future.
