Building What Grows: Our Award-Winning Experience at the IIDA Mid-Atlantic Showcase
At this year’s IIDA Mid-Atlantic Showcase at the National Building Museum, our Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC) team took the theme of community and connection to heart and to the flower bar.
Our concept, “We Build What Grows,” transformed our 300-square-foot booth into a hands-on Community Garden experience. Partnering with a local florist, we invited guests to build their own mini flower arrangements, each one a reflection of how creativity, collaboration, and craftsmanship come together to build something beautiful.
CWC named the Exceptional Booth Award Winner by IIDA Mid-Atlantic.
Just like every construction project begins with a solid foundation, each bouquet started with structure, layers, and finishing touches, a nod to the way we approach every project we build. Throughout the evening, attendees stopped by to play florist, connect with our team, and leave their mark on our growing community garden display.
The result was a booth full of color, conversation, and connection, and the honor of being named the Exceptional Booth Award Winner by IIDA Mid-Atlantic.
We were especially proud to celebrate the evening with our colleague Sherry Kissal, President of IIDA Mid-Atlantic and a member of the CWC team. Sherry spoke at the event, highlighting the power of design to bring people together, a message that perfectly echoed our own mission of building spaces and relationships that grow stronger over time.
As a Platinum Sponsor of IIDA Mid-Atlantic, we are grateful to support an organization that celebrates design, collaboration, and community, values that align perfectly with who we are at Coakley & Williams Construction.
