Combating Diabetes Through Community Involvement

We participated in the 2023 JDRF Real Estate Games to support its mission of raising awareness among Members of Congress of the financial, medical and emotional costs of Type 1 diabetes. The JDRF Real Estate Games, held annually at American University in Washington, DC, bring together real estate companies, CRE industry professionals, and community organizations for a day of friendly competition and fundraising. Our participation in this meaningful initiative not only showcased our commitment to combating diabetes, but also exemplified the profound impact that community involvement can have in driving positive change.

Record-Breaking FUN-draising

Over $824,000

We had over 40 competitors and spectators and are proud that CWC played a role in the JDRF Real Estate Games, raising record-breaking funds of over $824,000 for Type 1 diabetes. By joining forces with other CRE industry companies, we are able to create a powerful collective impact and raise awareness about the challenges faced by those living with diabetes.

Preconstruction manager Alex Schwartz, Assistant Project Manager and CWC Team Co-Captain Bridgett Redding, Project Engineer and Co-Captain Luca Imperiale, and returning Summer Intern Tenny Ros, won 1st place in their round of office chair relay. Sharing a Passion for Making a Difference

From relay races to soccer and basketball, the games provided an opportunity for participants to not only engage in friendly competition but also to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for making a difference. As more companies join forces with research foundations like JDRF, we move closer to finding better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for diabetes.
