Lauren Schenning to Lead CWC’s HR Department
CWC is excited to announce the promotion of Lauren Schenning to CWC's Director of Human Resources!
In her new role, Lauren will lead our HR department, driving the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to support our workforce and enhance our company culture. She will oversee all people-centered activities such as hiring, training, professional development, and coaching, as well as compliance, policy, employment law, compensation, and benefits.
With a proven track record of success and exceptional leadership skills, Lauren has been an invaluable asset to our organization since joining as the Talent Acquisition Manager. She has consistently demonstrated her expertise in attracting top talent and cultivating a positive work environment. Her ability to align HR strategies with business objectives will significantly contribute to our continued growth and success.
Diverse Experience
Before joining CWC, Lauren most recently spent two years at HITT Contracting, and before that, she worked at JBG SMITH for 15 years, where she served as a Vice President within the Human Resources department. Throughout her career, Lauren has supported every facet of HR, including employee relations and performance management, recruiting and development, policy, data & analytics, and corporate diversity & inclusion efforts. Lauren has been a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) for more than ten years and is a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) member.

We recently broke ground on Foxcroft School’s new Mars STEAM Wing, an 18,000 SF, two-story addition that will house new science labs, innovation and engineering labs, math rooms, and mechanical spaces.
We recently delivered Howard University’s renovated Burr Practice Gymnasium in Washington, DC! Take a look at the final photos to see the finished space. The scope of work included replacing the gym floor and lighting, installing new wall and safety padding, volleyball posts, basketball equipment, system controls, and more.
We began 2024 by celebrating Bill Simons’ retirement. Bill joined CWC in 1996 and during his tenure, oversaw hundreds of projects and mentored countless employees.

As part of his involvement with the ACE Mentor Program of Annapolis, CWC Superintendent Ben Cozzi recently gave an Environmental Literacy class from Broadneck High School (Annapolis, MD) a tour of our Long Bridge Park Aquatics & Fitness Center project in Arlington, VA.
We are excited to announce that our Managing Principal & Chief Strategy Officer, Lynn Stith Bennett, has joined the Board of Directors for the JDRF Mid-Atlantic Chapter! JDRF is the world’s largest nonprofit funder of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research whose vision is to create a world without T1D.

We are pleased to recognize Project Manager Jonathan Fuentes with the CWC Founders Award. The CWC Founders Award honors employees who consistently exceed the day-to-day expectations and deliver exceptional performance on the job, amongst their peers, and in the community.
