This year, we proudly participated in the Breakthrough T1D Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Games (formerly the JDRF Real Estate Games), where we competed and connected with our industry peers while raising money for Type 1 Diabetes research!

The Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games brings together real estate professionals from across the DMV for a day of friendly competition in various sporting events. From basketball and volleyball to tug-of-war, participants showcase their athletic prowess while raising funds to support Breakthrough T1D’s mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.

This year, we stepped up to the challenge, assembling a team of enthusiastic employees eager to represent the company both on and off the field. With a mix of seasoned athletes and newcomers, our team embraced the opportunity to compete alongside industry peers while supporting a cause close to our hearts.

As the day of the games arrived, excitement buzzed through the air as dozens of teams gathered at the venue. Decked out in our company-branded gear, we embraced the spirit of competition while focusing on the bigger picture: supporting Breakthrough T1D’s mission. Every moment was filled with energy, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose.

While the thrill of friendly competition is always fun, the true measure of success was the impact we made together. Through our participation in the Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games, we demonstrated our commitment to corporate social responsibility and helped raise over $600,000 for a cause that affects millions of individuals and families worldwide.

It also earned two additional awards: Best in Design Excellence - Architecture and Award of Excellence - Buildings/Facilities. We partnered with Architects Page/ and MJMA on this unique design-build project, which was delivered to Arlington County in 2021.

Our Truesdell Elementary School project team recently celebrated a unique milestone as mass timber traveled all the way from Quebec, Canada, to the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC, to be installed on the project! This marks the first use of mass timber on a DC School project and is also the largest use of mass timber in the District’s portfolio.
