Bill Simons Awarded Volunteer of the Year by CBN-DC

CWC’s Bill Simons, Business Unit Leader & Partner, was awarded Volunteer of the Year at the 8th Annual Catholic Business Network (CBN) Gala 2022. “Nominating Bill Simons as the CBN-DC Gala 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award was not even a question,” stated CBN. “Bill is a tireless advocate for the Consortium of Catholic Academies (CCA), an organization with few resources and mountains to climb to provide access to an excellent Catholic education for 850+ Pre-K 3-year-olds through 8th-grade students across four schools in the District’s most underserved communities.”

“Nominating Bill Simons as the CBN-DC Gala 2022 Volunteer of the Year Award was not even a question,” stated CBN.

CBN-DC Praises Bill’s Expertise on Facilities

CBN continued, “Bill Simons consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of the role. He is always willing to share his expertise on facility matters large or small and frequently visits our schools to assess problems and offer solutions. He has been instrumental in collaborating with contractors, our board, and our internal staff to move projects forward. The leadership, humility, service, and authentic loyalty of Bill Simons is a treasured blessing. With loyal leaders like Bill Simons by our side, we know our students will have the safe, nurturing classrooms, schools, and facilities to maximize the excellent educational opportunities they have been given through CCA. We truly could not be more grateful for Bill Simons.”

CWC Team Supports Bill

Joining Bill Simons, members of the CWC team also attended the event including Project Manager, Max Zarate, Managing Principal & Chief Business Officer, Terrence Caulfield, President, Patrick Caulfield, Preconstruction Manager, Alex Phifer, Preconstruction Manager, Alana Stewart, and Project Manager, Nick Yager. Tom Sullivan, Bob Waechter, and Shawn Samuel joined the CWC team in celebration. Terrence Caulfield praised, “Bill represented Coakley & Williams Construction and our values in the best possible way and I am very proud to be seated with him at the table.” Additionally, Patrick Caulfield, a CCA board member and member of the Facilities Committee, was also recognized in the program for consistently going above and beyond in time, energy, talent, and compassion for under-served students in inner-city schools. Coakley & Williams Construction also received recognition for sending “staff and resources to the schools to analyze or address urgent matters when they occur. The Consortium has a lean budget and values the enormous contributions of Coakley & Williams Construction greatly.”
