Paint Party at Washington DC Construction Project
Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC) threw a Paint Party at our Paulist Fathers’ Residence & Mission House project in Washington, DC. Max Zarate, Project Manager, invited children from the neighboring homes to paint a mural on the temporary wall surrounding the construction project. CWC Project Manager, Brinden McGowan, and wife, Brittney McGowan, volunteered their time and artistry skills to sketch the rainbow and construction site outline. When asked about the inspiration behind the design of the mural, Brinden said, "I was inspired by the thought of having children paint and be creative. Nowadays, everyone is on their electronic devices and I thought this was a neat idea to have kids come outside and use their imaginations.”
CWC summer intern, Connor Bath, stated, “The paint party was my first experience at a CWC community event and it made me realize how much of an impact a project has on the local community. I enjoyed interacting with the local kids and I could tell the event meant a lot to them and their view on construction.” Another summer intern, Sheila Suazo, chimed in, “It was a wonderful experience, not only for the community, but also the construction team.”
When complete, the new Paulist House Mission & Residence project will have residences, a mission house for Paulist Fathers and below grade parking. The project includes 14 bedrooms, 8 study rooms, and worship/meeting space.
