Cutting-edge police special operations HQ opens in Prince George's County
A new era of public safety infrastructure has arrived in Prince George’s County with the opening of the state-of-the-art Special Operations Division Headquarters for the Prince George’s County Police Department. The facility was recently featured on NBC4 and FOX5DC, with live coverage highlighting its critical role in supporting law enforcement collaboration and rapid emergency response.
This impactful project was delivered by WarrenBuildsMaryland, a joint venture between Warren Builds and Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC). Both companies are proudly Maryland-based and deeply rooted in the region, united by a shared commitment to building with purpose and precision across the state.
“Delivering this project alongside Shane Warren and our partners at Warren Builds is a reflection of what’s possible when two Maryland-based firms come together with a shared purpose,” said Baboucarr Cham, Government Business Unit Leader at CWC. “The new Special Operations Division Headquarters represents not only a significant investment in public safety infrastructure, but also our ongoing commitment to building for the communities we call home - and to strengthening our long-standing partnership with Prince George’s County.”

The partnership was built on a foundation of trust, shared values, and a mutual drive to serve Maryland communities through high-quality, high-impact projects. The new 44,788-square-foot Special Operations HQ now serves as the central hub for the Emergency Services Team, Tactical Unit, K-9 trainers, Crash Team, and other special services. It includes a secure, climate-controlled vehicle garage and an onsite repair bay, ensuring rapid deployment and mission readiness. Designed with the future in mind, the building is targeting LEED BD+C v4 Silver certification and includes sustainable features like solar panels, bioretention ponds, EV charging stations, and low-flow plumbing fixtures.
Prince George’s County Police Chief Malik Aziz emphasized the building’s significance during the opening ceremony, stating that the facility will “help police collaborate more efficiently,” strengthening coordination between specialized units and enhancing public safety throughout the county.
Replacing a building originally constructed in 1951, the new headquarters marks a transformative leap forward in capability, sustainability, and service delivery.
From groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting, WarrenBuildsMaryland is proud to deliver this facility as a testament to our joint venture’s capabilities and to our shared investment in the future of Maryland.
