The Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC) Women’s Group recently volunteered with Nourish Now, a 501c3 nonprofit food bank specializing in food recovery and providing donations for the benefit of children, families, and the elderly, as well as shelters, food pantries, and other organizations working to end hunger. The event was led by CWC Project Manager, Barb Price. She said, “There is no greater reward than helping people in need. This food bank is a vital source for families who have been unemployed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In an effort to end hunger through food recovery, donations are collected throughout Montgomery County, MD and the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The food is then distributed directly to individuals, families and partner organizations. The CWC Women’s Group spent an afternoon packaging produce into bags and dry goods into boxes for hundreds of families. Barb Price stated, “Supporting our community is part of CWC’s core values. Every action we take contributes to building something!”
