Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser held her first ever Women in Workforce Conference. The purpose of this event was for women professionals who are doing amazing things in Washington to share their experiences as women in the workforce. Project Manager, Barbara Price, gives Women in Workforce three C’s to remember.

CWC Bikes to the Beach
Coakley & Williams Construction has a long and proud tradition of supporting Bike to the Beach. Bike to the Beach has gone from the early years of raising a few thousand dollars, to present day raising over $1.5 million annually for Autism Speaks and local autism non-profits.

Building New Apartments on Metro’s Red Line

The process of building a new church began in 2000, with a previous pastor, Father Donald C. Greenhalgh. The worship center, which seats approximately 900, has served as the church.

The First Licensed Childcare + Coworking Space in the U.S.
Coakley & Williams Construction was awarded the interior buildout of the two-story 12,800 SF space in Washington, D.C. which features shared desks, dedicated desks, a conference room, private telephone rooms, kitchen area with coffee, a large open common area for hosting events, and a fully licensed childcare center on the first floor.

Take Your Child To Work Day
We participated in Take Your Child to Work Day. Our kids had an exciting day learning about the ins and outs of our industry, including career path options and BIM technology.

Coakley & Williams Construction's ABC Leaders Graduate
Congratulations to the Coakley & Williams Construction team members who graduated from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Leadership Development Program. We also want to congratulate Megan Ross, who received the J.P. Blase Cooke Leadership Achievement Award. Great work, team!

In the Media: L'Enfant Plaza Hotel Reopens
The long-shuttered hotel property on L’Enfant Plaza, now dubbed the Hilton Washington D.C. National Mall, has reopened after a closure of more than five years. The project features a complete renovation of the guest rooms, an opening up of the lobby and attached restaurant, and renovation of the meeting and event spaces. Still to finish is a revamp of the pool area on the hotel’s 12th floor
