Construction Tops Out at USNAAAF in Annapolis, MD

The final beam is placed on the structure, completing a major milestone

Topping Out Ceremony

We recently celebrated the steel topping out at the new USNA Alumni Association & Foundation (USNAAAF) center in Annapolis, MD. Joining the celebration were members of the USNAAAF, alongside project partners Nowland Construction Management (Owner’s Rep) and Perkins Eastman (Architect).

This exciting project will join a long list of projects we have built or renovated in the state’s capital, including Preble Hall Museum, Annapolis Yacht Club, and The Maryland State House, along with four other government buildings at the State Government Complex.

USNAAAF CEO Jeff Webb leaves a message on the beam

“Today we hit a huge milestone for the USNA Alumni Association & Foundation”

The 74,000 sf building will include 45,000 sf of interior space, 23,000 sf of underground parking, and 6,000 sf of deck space. The new building is located on USNA’s campus and sits adjacent to Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium, the academy’s baseball field. Thanks to an on-site camera, you can see the project’s construction in real-time.

Project Superintendent Ben Cozzi commended the project team and partners on the progress made: “Today we hit a huge milestone for the USNA Alumni Association & Foundation, with the topping out of their building’s structure. Working with the USNA Alumni Association, Nowland Construction Management, and Perkins Eastman has truly been a great team effort and experience. We look forward to continuing the great momentum as we get closer to substantial completion.”
