Construction Begins on Saint Peter School Modernization in Washington, DC

The CWC team joined Saint Peter School and project partners to celebrate the groundbreaking and blessing of the school's transformational modernization project.

A New Chapter Begins at Saint Peter School

Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC) joined Saint Peter School, parish leadership, students, families, alumni, and community members on Capitol Hill to celebrate the groundbreaking and blessing of the school's long-awaited modernization project.

The ceremony marked an important milestone for Saint Peter School, a cornerstone of Catholic education in Washington, DC, since 1868. For generations, the school has served students and families while preserving its historic presence in the Capitol Hill community. Now, through a transformative modernization effort, Saint Peter School is preparing its campus to support future generations of learners.

The project will modernize the existing historic school building and add new spaces designed to enhance the educational experience for students, faculty, and staff. Planned improvements include a new accessible entrance, elevator access throughout the building, dedicated art and music classrooms, expanded resource spaces, modernized learning environments, upgraded building systems, and a new multi-purpose space capable of serving the entire school community. These enhancements will strengthen the school's ability to provide academic excellence while supporting its faith-based mission.

Honoring Tradition, Building the Future at Saint Peter School

As a member of the team alongside MTFA Design + Preservation and project management partner AnchorPoint Services, CWC is honored to help bring this vision to life. The project represents more than a building improvement—it is an investment in the future of Catholic education on Capitol Hill and a testament to the dedication of Saint Peter School's leadership, families, alumni, and supporters.

The blessing ceremony served as a meaningful reminder that construction projects are ultimately about people and community. As shovels entered the ground and prayers were offered for the project's success, attendees celebrated not only the beginning of construction, but also the opportunities this modernized campus will create for students for decades to come.

CWC is proud to partner with Saint Peter School on this significant project and looks forward to helping deliver a facility that honors the school's rich history while supporting its future growth and mission.
