Favorite Netflix series: The Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam CJ Walker

Favorite quote: Mine is a Bible quote. “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.” - Paul the Apostle. This reminds me to be teachable and humble, so I can consistently be better and better.

“Construction found me,” says Judith about the start of her career. Her introduction was nothing short of serendipity, when she served the CWC Women’s Group at the restaurant she used to work at and was recruited to our team.

Construction found me

The reason you got into construction: Construction found me. I didn't know I wanted to be in construction so in my job search after graduation, I searched everywhere BUT construction. I was working at a restaurant when the Coakley & Williams Construction Women’s Group walked in to dine. Guess who hosted them? That’s right, me! I asked what they did and talked about my job search. Everything came together after that. Now, I absolutely love it! That’s how construction found me.

The Coakley & Williams Construction’s core value you relate to the most: Earn trust perpetually - The process of earning trust is involving and challenging, but it builds us. Once we earn trust it’s also easy to lose it unless we maintain the discipline of keeping it. I relate to that deeply.

Be open to the new

The thing you enjoy most about the Coakley & Williams Construction Women’s Group: Hearing from other women who are in all these different seasons of life.

A tip to a woman joining the construction industry: Be open to the new. Be you and build you consistently. Be excellent wherever you are and what you don't know can be learned.
