WAMU's headquarters brought together modern workplace design and highly specialized broadcast environments within an occupied building. The project transformed the space into a fully integrated media headquarters featuring offices, recording studios, production suites, and the technical infrastructure required to support daily broadcasting operations.
Delivering the project required extensive coordination among the owner, design team, technology consultants, furniture vendors, and building management. The scope included specialized acoustic construction, AV integration, critical power systems, and complex MEP coordination, all while maintaining operations for existing building tenants. As the project evolved, the team also accommodated owner-directed redesigns to support new tenant requirements on multiple floors. The result is a flexible, high-performance workplace designed to support both the creative and operational needs of one of the region's leading public media organizations. Certified LEED Gold.
