Laptops and Desktop Computers Donated to Senegal School

Assistant Project Manager, Mohamed Sow, recently organized a donation project of older surplus Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC) laptops and desktop computers to benefit a school in Senegal, Africa. The purpose of this project is to bring the donated computers to one underprivileged school in Senegal, allowing students enrolled at the school to be exposed to computer-based education tools.

Many schools in Senegal are at a disadvantage due to a lack of access to technology, a key component of today’s increasingly digital society. The donated computers will enhance both teaching and learning opportunities for the selected school.

Mohamed says, “The process will take some time to complete with the shipping and coordination that needs to be done with the school, but it certainly is rewarding as you see how excited the kids get once they receive exposure to these tools. With the help of family and friends, we were able to complete this same project in the past with six different schools in Senegal and three schools in the Dominican Republic. Our hope is to keep it going with these computers donated by CWC.”
