Women in Construction Week: In the Community
CWC Women’s Group Makes a Difference for Elderly Montgomery County Resident
This Friday morning on March 8th, 2019, the Coakley & Williams Construction (CWC) Women's Group gathers for a kick-off meeting to prepare for the eventful day ahead. It is the last - but not least - day of Women in Construction Week. Several of the women have volunteered their time and efforts for a full day of construction work. Together, they will make all the difference in the life of one elderly Montgomery County Resident.

A senior citizen who dedicated a portion of her life to the Women’s Liberation Movement is currently living in the basement of her home to be rid of the hassle of going up and down the stairs. She currently prepares for several medical procedures that will impair her mobility even further than her current health conditions allow.
The CWC Women’s Group has a mission today which is to make sure that she will be able to relax comfortably in her home with helpful upgrades after her procedures. Megan Ross, Assistant Project Manager at CWC and an active member of ABC, will be leading the SheBuilds project in partnership with ABC's Women Building Washington and Rebuilding Together Montgomery County. The CWC Women’s Group also held a fundraiser led by Kay Leech, HR Generalist, to support this project. They are donating materials and have plans to make several improvements to her residence today so that she will be able to heal and rest properly.
